Why your lash fills keep coming early

A good set should hold three weeks. If you are back in ten days, it is usually one of five habits — and four of them happen in the bathroom.

Lash extensions being applied

Extensions fall with the natural lash they are attached to. You shed lashes daily whether or not you are wearing extensions, so some loss is the system working correctly. What is not normal is half a set gone in a week.

Oil is the first culprit. Cleansing balms, oil-based SPF, and most eye creams break down the adhesive bond. Switch to a foaming lash cleanser and keep oil below the brow bone.

Heat is the second. Standing directly under a hot shower or leaning into an oven face-first softens the adhesive during the first 24 hours. Give the set a day before a sauna.

Sleeping face-down is the third, and the hardest to fix. A silk pillowcase reduces the friction; a back-sleeping habit eliminates it.

Fourth: mascara on extensions. There is no version of this that ends well. If you want more drama, book a denser map, not a tube.

Fifth, and most common: skipping the brush. Thirty seconds with a spoolie each morning keeps fans separated and stops twisted lashes pulling on their neighbours.

Do those five things and a classic set will hold to three weeks comfortably. Book the fill at week three, not week five — a fill on a set that is 40 percent gone is a new set, and it prices like one.
